Market Savvy

While walking around Pershing Square we decided to experience LA’s Oldest & Largest open-air market, Grand Central Market.  Since 1917 Grand Central Market has been a hub of bustling activity including a local rush of produce, cafes, desserts, household needs, and a food court all in one. Over six different countries are represented throughout the market and each with its own devoted following. A must-have while at the market is Maria’s Fresh Seafood, which serves up fresh fish platters, oysters, and fish burritos. La Casa Verde, Sun’s Produce, La Huerta, and Win Produce all have a wide variety of produce at an affordable price. Tacos Tumbras a Tomas is another well-known staple at The Grand Central Market. Lines form well before the market is opened for their larger-than-life tacos and the carne asada torta.

While exploring Downtown Los Angeles, The Grand Central Market is a rare California jewel that should not be overlooked.
